Do you need more time to self-study? If yes, then check out this article for some tips to manage your time efficiently…
In this article, I have tried to sum up a few suggestions for 'how to manage time to study in class 12th?'
Have you ever asked this question to yourself 'What is the need to manage this time I have?'. You know "the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just that little extra". So, you have to "push yourself, no one else is gonna do it for you".
You must know that the 12th standard is the basis for your further studies or accomplishments. Thus, work hard so that you won't regret it later. The steps involved to manage your time are listed below…
Go through your syllabus
Before starting, make sure that you know what you are supposed to study. In every subject, note down which chapter or topic you need to study. Divide all the chapters based on their weightage in exams.
Prioritize those topics which are surely coming in your exams. And follow this for every subject. Don't worry if you are not familiar with the syllabus. Make yourself calm and comfortable.
"You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them".
Make a time-table
After dividing the syllabus into smaller chunks. Make a blank time-table with defined time slots. Both for study and leisure activities. Then, start filling it with the prior subjects and topics.
And remember "you don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great". You will initially make some mistakes but don't give up.
Give at least 4 dedicated hours to self-study. Three hours for your respective core subjects and one hour for both of the remaining subjects. Don't think that you only need to study your core subject. Give time to other subjects too.
We generally don't care about the subject other than the core. But our result or percentage becomes promising with these subjects. So, don't ignore them. Rather give lesser time than the core subjects.
Stick to the routine
Your work has not finished yet. Accomplishing that time table is what you need to do now. Most of the students make their time-table but are not able to follow it regularly.
You have to stick to your time-table to follow up. Don't worry about how much you have discovered today but see how well you have inferred from that topic or chapter.
Do not let your morale down if you are finding difficulties in fulfilling those tasks. "Don't let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do". Just keep learning something with full attention.
You don't have to just sit for four whole hours. You should take breaks while studying for about 10 minutes. This will maintain your enthusiasm.
Don't procrastinate
The most common reason for not being able to stick to the time-table is procrastination. You just leave things for tomorrow. Even the theme of your first lesson on Flamingo is "Don't leave things for tomorrow".
If you procrastinate now, you will just create a pile of workload for later. You won't have time for learning at this rate. And you all might know very well how extensive assignments and practical works are there in the 12th standard. So, instead of procrastinating, do your work timely. Then, you will automatically be able to manage your time.
Take care of your health
Along with studies, don't forget to take care of your health. Allow yourself to be strong to get ready for the future battle.
Practice meditation for spiritual and mental health. This is an essential aspect of learning. Otherwise, your mind will be very exhausted. And you will find it difficult to study.
Exercise and keep yourself hydrated. Drink water regularly to freshen yourself up.
Don't try to become a night owl to complete your intended task. Take a sound sleep. I would personally recommend you to study in the morning. It is because the environment at that time is very quiet and calm.
Give reviews
Giving reviews to your learning methods is the best in my opinion. You can improve your learning outcomes and shortcomings.
Write down what you learned today and what you remember. You will revise everything in this way. Also, it is like practicing writing your exams.
It is as if you are testing yourself daily. It is alright if you don't remember most of the things you read. Just revise, revise, and revise. Ultimately, you will develop a habit of learning instantly and remember it for the long-term.
